More Clay less plastic 2024-2026

Tecna-how-to-make-itABOUT US MORE CLAY LESS PLASTIC
was born in 2014 as an open group on Facebook with the intent of creating a network between ceramicists and the public. THE MESSAGE The message we want to put through is very simple: more clay less plastic.

PLASTIC POLLUTION
Plastic pollution has reached dramatic levels. Reducing the use of plastic is a fundamental and urgent step to save the environment and improve the life quality of every living creature.

INVOLUTION AS A FORM OF EVOLUTION The aim is to highlight respect for the environment by inviting people to rethink their daily habits, for example by avoiding disposable plastic. Colanders, cups, plates, bowls ... once made of clay and then substituted with plastic, can be made of clay again. PEOPLE Today MORE CLAY LESS PLASTIC is coming out of the web to meet people, promoting the reduction of plastic usage at cultural events, workshops and exhibitions.

Text by Marilena Sobacchi

The decision to postpone the event is a mark of respect towards the entire international design community which will enable it to capitalise fully on the potential of an event packed with new things.

The Salone del Mobile.Milano has been rescheduled for June. From Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th. A firm, mutual decision by those who make up the event and represent it body and soul: the companies, Milan and all the stakeholders. According to Mario Porro, it was first and foremost an act of concern, care and respect for those who wish to be there in person, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the event and enjoy a unique, concrete and exciting experience. We met her and asked her to tell us about the reasons for and the reactions to this decision.

HOMI Milan Italy from 25th to 28th January 2019

600-280-homi-enSPACES TO BE LIVED, OBJECTS TO BE EXPERIENCED

January 2019 will see the new edition of HOMI, the Lifestyle Trade Fair, take the spotlight

The home ever at the centre of our daily lives: relaxation and family, as well as study, work and creativity, all and everything happens in our homes, which are being increasingly 'experienced' not only by people, but also by ideas, styles, tastes and lifestyles.

In all of this, HOMI, the Fiera Milano Lifestyle Trade Fair, set to take place from 25 to 28 January 2019, confirms its status as a unique occasion to discover the most interesting proposals from the lifestyle and personal accessory sectors. Not just products but ideas, projects, styles and different cultures in an ever-new and diverse coming together, intended to help operators identify the trends that will characterise the upcoming season.

In this way, objects become words in an ever-divers e story that meanders its way through rooms and usage contexts, amidst shapes and colours, since, as demonstrated by the CasaDoxa Observatory, the home represents the unrivalled protagonist of our consumer purchases. From the research conducted by the prestigious Italian institute, which explores the subject thoroughly by interviewing over 6,000 Italians each year, it has emerged that Italians are seeking an increasingly dynamic space to call home, a space that in addition to traditional functions, also enables new activities and generates new lifestyle practices. The layout of these domestic spaces must follow and adapt to this transformation, with different functions now being required of the same objects.
