Program.
I day: arrival in Vicenza in the late morning and transfer to hotel. Free lunch. In the early afternoon, meeting with the tour leader and the guide and departure for Marostica.
The town is situated in the picturesque location at the foot of the Alps , with its intact medieval walls that cling on the Hill Pausolino, its two castles (lower and upper) and the famous "Piazza degli Scacchi," when you still played today live chess match.
We continues to Bassano del Grappa, a town famous for its beautiful wooden covered bridge (designed by Andrea Palladio), for its picturesque and historic old town, for its craft shops and the memories of the two Global Wars.
Guided tour and entrance to the small and cute "Grappa Museum", where guests can enjoy 5 types of brandies and liqueurs, experience usually much appreciated by those who come to visit this city.
Then free time for shopping and relaxation in the center, always very lively and full of interesting ideas. In the late afternoon, return to Vicenza, and dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight.

II day: Morning: Breakfast at hotel, then entrance and guided tour to the exhibition "Tutankhamon Caravaggio and Van Gogh" in the Palladian Basilica. The visit will be conducted by a specialist guide. Then we will taste a true Venetian aperitif, with sparkling wine (or, alternatively, based on non-alcoholic) and snacks. Free Lunch: we can recommend several local restaurants nearby. If the group wish, we can book your lunch in a restaurant at a very affordable price (see below) Afternoon: meeting with a licensed tour guide and visit the historic center of Vicenza, rich in important monuments: Piazza dei Signori with the Basilica, the Tower Bissara, Contra Porti with its prestigious buildings in Venetian style, Corso Palladio and adjacent streets with Thiene Palladian palaces, Barbaran Da Porto. Of course we also visit the magnificent Teatro Olimpico, the first indoor theater in the world, designed by Andrea Palladio inspired by the classical theaters of the Greek and Roman times.
Possibility of free time (the guide is available), and then return.

  • 1 night accommodation in 3 star hotel, in double room;
