Ceramic's produciton by potter whell

This particular kind of wheel can produce objects with undercuts, such as vases, amphorae, cachepots, which couldn't be obtained by a normal press.
The process is almost completely automated and suitable for high scale production. To shape a piece you put a ball of clay into the plaster or metal mould and by turning it also the punch will be inserted into the mould,
The turning punch will press the clay to the walls of the mould to reach a fixed thickness.
The mould can now be opened and the object removed for final finishing.
