s an international event aimed at promoting artistic creation in the field of ceramics, with the intention of integrating ceramics into the world of contemporary art and design.
In order to highlight the various aspects of contemporary ceramic creation on an international level, the INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE – CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS AND CREATION takes the form of a programming of events including a competition and a series of non-juried exhibitions.
The exhibitions of the 26th INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE – CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS AND CREATION will take place from July 6 to September 30, 2024 (these provisional dates may change)
THE COMPETITION Article 10 / Purpose Established in 1966, the competition is the historical foundation of the INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE – CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS AND CREATION. It aims to showcase, promote, and reward talented creators by leveraging the reputation of the event and the City of Vallauris, an internationally recognized ceramic city.
The contest seeks to reflect the diversity of the contemporary use of ceramic and to highlight the main trends expressed in this field. Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 artworks. Eligible for the competition are: unique works, shaped pieces, sculptures, design objects, installations and conceptual or multimedia creations manifesting technical skill and excellence, with ceramic being a major component of the artwork.
